Abstract
A novel coding scheme that can simultaneously provide error-correcting capability and reduce the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) for OFDM system is proposed. A Viterbi algorithm is employed to search over a convolutional code composed of two different component codes so that the PAPR can be reduced. In addition, a lower bound on the minimum Hamming distance of this construction is proposed.
