Abstract :
In this contribution, a novel dynamical regimes where the emission in each direction is almost single-mode, but each direction lases at a different wavelength. This regime might have practical relevance in the development of gyroscopes, since the two directions are not phase-locked. This emission state may coexist with states of mode-locked unidirectional emission for large gain bandwidth and relatively small detuning . These mode-locked states arise via a Risken Nummedal instability without the need of intracavity saturable absorbers.
