Abstract :
Classical washout algorithm is the most widely used motion-cueing algorithm for simulation of motion effects in a simulator. The classical washout algorithm provides for the high-frequency linear acceleration effects, the low-frequency linear effects, and the high-frequency angular velocity effects. In case of a ground vehicle, the absence of a low-pass component of the angular effects results in ineffective replication of the actual motion effects. This paper describes a solution to counter this problem by modifying the classical washout algorithm.
