Abstract
We describe the various dynamical regimes of mode-locked semiconductor lasers as a function of the optical injection power and detuning. We also extend the use of multiple master laser lines, up to the use of a full-spectrum QD-MLLD as a master. Additionally, we applied the technique to undoped QDMLL and found similarities in response of the slave. We show that the locking mechanism is robust versus the addition of extra boundary conditions from the master spectrum and both repetition rate entrainment and phase locking can be achieved with complex master spectra. We will show that such a behaviour can be used for various application in coherent communications.
