Abstract :
A vernier ranging method for radar applications with an accuracy of the order of millimeters is presented. The principle of this new radar ranging method is described and the ranging accuracy is analyzed. The ranging accuracy for a point target is shown to be exactly as predicted by theory. The robustness of the system is also demonstrated using computer simulation on dispersive targets
