Abstract :
Spread-spectrum multi-carrier (MC) transmission for multipath propagation is explored. To handle inter-channel-interference (ICI), due to multipath propagation, a cyclic extension is normally appended. We propose codes, incorporating the cyclic extension, in such a way that ICI can be cancelled. Then, part of the rate loss, due to cyclic extension, can be avoided. Alternatively, the frequency diversity can be improved. Furthermore, our proposed codes also ensures a low peak to average power ratio of the transmitted time-domain signal. On the other hand, our requirements considerably restrict the possible code rates. Thus, these desirable properties can only be fulfilled for spread-spectrum MC
