Abstract :
The carrier-density wave in a rectangular cantilever (3D geometry), photogenerated by a focused and intensity-modulated laser beam, was analyzed. The theoretical model for the carrier-density distribution in the cantilever was given by using the Green function method and Hankel transformation. The amplitude and phase components of the carrier-density distribution in the cantilever were calculated. These investigations are important for many practical experimental situation (atomic force microscopy, thermal microscopy, thermoelastic microscopy, etc) and sensors and actuators based on cantilevers.
