Abstract :
We made Au/PI/(Rh-G2 + PI)/PI/Au junctions and Au/PI/(Rh-G2 + PI)/PI/Al junctions with an artificially layered structure containing rhodamine dendrite macromolecules (Rh-G2), and then observed steps in their I-V characteristic. It is found that the device using organic monomolecule, Rh-G2 dendrite molecule, function as a single electron tunnel device. It was concluded that the presence of metal/organic interfacial states made a significant contribution to the I-V characteristics of these junctions
