Abstract :
The study deals with the calibration of arable land and wood and forests from a global vegetation map based on the seasonal change of NDVI from NOAA AVHRR data, using the Agricultural Atlas in Asia. For this purpose, first the World Atlas of Agriculture is digitized, second the arable land and wood and forest areas are selected from the vegetation map from the viewpoint of NDVI seasonal change. Finally the accuracy of two kinds of land utilization is inspected. From the result, the distribution of arable land and wood and forest areas based on the NDVI seasonal change are accurate enough practically
