Abstract :
If lightning damage occurs in substations, huge block would be caused out in a large area, and lots of trouble would be brought to social production and daily life. So it requires that lightning protection should be reliable. Presently, the lightning protection measures of high voltage system are perfect, while the secondary system mainly consists of plenty of electronic, micro-electronic, etc LV devices, which make the withstanding voltage standard fairly low. With the smart grid presentation, there will be more new information technology and more LV devices will be used in substations, so higher demand on reliability of lightning protection is put forward. This paper put forward a multi-grade surge protective for secondary system in substation using surge protective devices in order to achieve superior overall performance and using electromagnetic transient program (EMTP) analysis of the performance of their protection and parameter coordination.
