Abstract :
The finite precision of machine arithmetic alters deeply the properties of chaotic 1D maps of the unit interval. The main contribution of this paper is a new set of descriptors of the properties of quantized 1D maps, and a full quantitative explanation of the properties of a particular family of quantized maps.
