Abstract :
The impact of thermal management of saturable absorber on the performance of mode-locked semiconductor disk lasers is reported. The gain element entailed 10 GalnAs quantum wells (QWs) and emitted at wavelength 1050 nm. The V shaped laser cavity comprised the gain element acting as a folding mirror, a SESAM with 2 GalnAs QWs and a 2.5 % spherical output coupler with a radius of curvature of 50 mm.
