Abstract
A frequency modulated scatterometer/profiler is described. The instrument has three parallel frequency channels (C, Ku and K a) and four different polarization combinations can be selected. The radar receiver operates alternatively in Doppler or non-coherent mode with common or separate antennas for the transmission and receiving. The range and surface profile are measured by a tracking loop, which keeps the instantaneous frequency of the IF-signal constant
