Abstract :
Eskom is experiencing a huge challenge in meeting high national electricity demand growth, and since power stations take years to build, Demand Side Management is another way to reduce the demand. Integrated Demand Management department has been giving money to help everyone in the country to reduce their energy consumption. All the sectors have been considered in this initiative e.g. Industrial, Commercial, Residential and Agricultural sectors. Department of Energy also decided to help with the saving by allocating money to municipalities to install solar water heaters. This paper is about the installation of solar water heaters in the Sol Plaatje municipality.
