  • Abstract
In existing satellite altimetry, the ocean wave-height has been measured by analyzing only the first statistics of received pulses on the satellite. To observe other parameters of the ocean waves and to increase the accuracy of existing measurements are important topics in satellite altimetry. In order to study this subject, the authors have been trying to develop a new method using the higher order statistics as well as the first. In this computer simulation, they first try to generate the pulse train under the known ocean wave models, secondly they calculate the mean pulse response and the pulse-to-pulse correlation coefficient, and thirdly they compare their data with data of the SKYLAB radar altimeter. The pulse train simulated in the present article can be regarded as raw data concerning the first and the second statistics of received pulses at the satellite
