Abstract :
A new algorithm for the reconstruction of the time delay from the sea echo data of a radar altimeter such as the ERS-1 radar altimeter is described. The proposed algorithm is based on the exploitation of the echo waveform Fourier transform properties according to the Brown model. The numerical results obtained by the implementation of the algorithm on simulated and on ERS-1 real data are shown
