Abstract :
Terahertz spectroscopy of beta- barium borate crystals is reported. Optical properties in the terahertz range of a 200 μm-thick 29° cut BBO crystal were measured at room temperature by means of THz time-domain spectroscopy. Phonon modes was analysed using wavelet analysis of the THz waveform. A comparison of the transmitted THz spectrum with the incident one makes possible to determine the refractive index and the absorption coefficient of the BBO crystal.
