Abstract
In this paper, we have demonstrated numerically and verified experimentally how topological defects affect the formation of solitons at junctions of waveguide arrays in close resemblance with defects constituted by detuned waveguides. However, in contrast to conventional defects the influence of topological defects at the pivotal guide vanishes for large values of the propagation constant β.
