Abstract :
Four-wave-mixing efficiency and conversion bandwidth in silicon-nanocrystals slot waveguides fabricated by PECVD is reported. Experiments showed a 10-fold improvement of the nonlinear parameter γ in the case of the TM polarization. By combining the experimental data concerning FWM conversion and propagation losses with the results of numerical simulations of both TE and TM modes effective areas, the value of the n2 coefficient for both polarizations is obtained.
