Abstract :
This paper reports on the development of a plasma generator at atmospheric pressure between two glass dielectric barriers. This paper also focuses on the development in the context of a developing country like Nepal where an off-the-shelf product is not a solution due to price and availability constraints. The generator applies a variable high voltage and high frequency sine wave inverter (0-20 kV, 10-30 kHz). Tests on glass tube electrodes and flat plate electrodes at atmospheric pressure have been conducted successfully. The energy consumption of this generator is less than 300 W. This generator also has the capability of isolated measurement of the voltage and current directly on the high voltage side. A high frequency potential transformer and a current transformer are used for the measurement of voltage and current respectively.
