Abstract
The paper is concerned with the scattering by a sea surface roughened by combined wind and rain in the particular case of scatterometric incidences. Experimental wave tank data collected at 13.5 and 36 GHz are analysed for both wind and artificial rain induced roughnesses. The radar backscattering at scatterometric incidences is shown to obey a superposition combination for both effects and to follow a linear dependence with rainrate
