Abstract :
Optical parametric oscillators that cover the 1.5 to 1.9 μm range can be used for THz generation by optical rectification in GaAs and as pump sources of mid-IR optical parametric oscillators. We developed an optical parametric oscillator that delivers up to 1.5 W signal output power in several wavelength regions with less than 600 fs FWHM signal pulse duration. Two-color operation due to GDD matching has been achieved, which is in particular suitable for difference frequency generation into the mid-IR and THz range.
