Abstract
□ Semiconductor vertical-cavity lasers (VCL) having high speed and possibility to be integrated in large-scale matrices are an ideal emitter for optical systems of parallel data transmission at date rate of 10 Gbps and higher (per channel). Application of VCL in matrix design opens broad opportunities for development of optical information system with speed of 1 Tbps order. □ High-efficient single-photon emitters (SPE) with current pumping based on semiconductor quantum dots and Bragg vertical microcavities may be of great interest for quantum cryptography systems and quantum calculations, as well as for development of hig h-precision spectrum equipment and optical power standards. This type of SPE may provide data rate of 1 Gbps and higher.
