Abstract
This paper proposes a topology of Intelligent Universal Transformer (IUT) with the ideas of three stages and modules series and parallel. Main parameters of IUT are also designed according to the need of smart distribution grid and industrial requirements and a prototype has been carried out. An experiment in dynamic simulation lab in department of electric engineering, Tsinghua University is used to test the prototype and the results have verified the effectiveness and stability of designed IUT.
