  • Abstract
Superimposed phases of u-City build-up are observed in the many places of South Korea and depict an ecosystem converged at about 50 sites around the peninsula. The u-City constructions permitted the starting of the beginning of 21c period since 2005. The survey represents the pioneer driving forces of the u-City construction in Korea with highly developed ubiquitous IT (Information Technology) generates abundant problems with pioneering examples. Survey results represent that 22.7% of residents of the u-Cities Dongtan and Songdo are satisfied whereas 27.5% of residents exhibit unsatisfied living in the new smart cities. u-Cites in Korea have been building fairly equivalent contents of the internal and external features. The u-City construction should be planed and provided as “graded u-City systems” which depend mainly on income level, cultural level, and IT level of residents.
