Abstract :
I will review recent achievements with diode-or resonantly (laser-) pumped lasers and amplifiers based on double tungstate crystals on all time scales, from continuous-wave (CW) to Q-switched and ultrashort (picosecond and femtosecond) pulse operation of mode-locked lasers as well as short pulse amplification. The spectral coverage is basically in the 1-2 μm range, with special emphasis on recent achievements in the 2-μm range.
