Abstract
Current road safety management cannot meet the requirements of changing serious road safety situation and strengthening the protection of road users in China. The paper aims at looking for a possible solution for improving China´s road safety management by introducing the leading ideas on road safety from Vision Zero. With literature research and practice reviewing, the development course, main content and typical application of Vision Zero are introduced and discussed in details, and the leading ideas represented by Vision Zero and its great value are discovered. Considering the circumstances in China, such ideas are used to analyze the actions which are needed by the government to improve road safety management. It is the first time to analyze the problems in road safety management and find their countermeasures by using the ideas from Vision Zero in China.
