Abstract :
The paper is concerned with the analysis of AIRSAR data (P-, L-, C-band) collected during the NASA/JPL MAC Europe Campaign (June 1991) over the area of Naples (Italy) which includes the Phlegrean Fields and Somma-Vesuvius complex. Two sets of target operators are considered and their discriminating capability of major land cover classes of the study area is evaluated through numerical analysis and photo-interpretation of color image products. Color image presentation of these parameters allows a pretty good interpretation of land cover classes and a clear delineation of the main geological features of the study area
