Abstract :
The paper studies the electromagnetic wave radiation outside of a rectangular tunnel. The analysis adopts the traditional approach of the equivalent source principle and results in an approximate closed-form formula for the defined direction function. The simulation shows that the direction function has a sharp pattern and implies that the coverage will be confined in a narrow range in front of the tunnel.
