Abstract :
This paper presents the design and simulation of a 5 GHz to 6 GHz front end low noise amplifier for wireless transceiver systems. This amplifier uses Agilent´s ATF34143 which is a low noise and high dynamic range pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistor. The simulation has been performed using Advanced Design System (ADS) 2009 simulation software. The designed low noise amplifier offers minimum noise figure less than 0.68 dB, forward gain (S21) greater than 10.5 dB, input return loss (S11) less than -12 dB and output return loss (S22) less than -11 dB for the frequency range of 5 GHz to 6 GHz.
