Auto-reclosers and sectionalisers

This paper looks at some of the issues associated with the specification and application of reclosers and sectionalisers. To do this, three possible schemes are considered followed by some practical issues associated with the implementation of the schemes. The three schemes are the traditional scheme, the enhanced traditional scheme, and the optimum scheme. For each scheme the author discusses the operation of the reclosers and sectionalisers upon a distribution network fault. The remote control of these devices is also discussed
