Abstract :
TANGRAM is a prototype system of CSCW whose goal is to implement a full object-based groupware. Distributed object access service (DOAS) provides functions of store, restore, link, unlink, copy and move of objects in TANGRAM. This article analyzes the requirements of DOAS and explains the mechanism of DOAS. Finally, it is shown that DOAS has the features of robustness, extendibility and portability and has wide application.
