Abstract :
A novel efficient call admission control (CAC) scheme for the soft handoff mechanism in cellular code-division multiple-access (CDMA) systems over Nakagami-m fading channels with the impact of the Doppler frequency is proposed. Equipped with a soft handoff queue, a continuous-time Markov chain (CTMC) model for the CAC which is modified by an adaptive service rate algorithm against the Doppler frequency degradation is discussed. Computer calculations for the new call blocking probability and the handoff dropping probability have been evaluated to confirm our new design.
