Abstract
Gas-filled resonators are excellent tools both for precision measurement of sound velocity and for photoacoustic spectroscopy applications. This paper aims to show the major selectivity obtainable in excitation of acoustic modes varying the optical absorption coefficient of the gas when an optical source is used. The effect of microphone performance on the response of the resonator in a typical range of gas pressure values is also considered
