Abstract :
Design, fabrication and performance of a K-band VCO in chip technique on alumina substrate is described. Results gained by simulation and measurements are presented and give courage to use direct carrier generation in the radio frequency range saving frequency doublers and amplifiers. The present work arose from the requirement of a small low-cost oscillator with high reliability as a common part for a family of radio link systems.
