Abstract :
Switch is the kernel of Avionics Full Duplex Switched Ethernet (AFDX) network, and its scheduling algorithm affects the switch´s performance directly. Employing the Earliest Deadline First (EDF) scheduling method in the switch of AFDX network can overcome the disadvantages of Quality of Service (QoS) for emergent messages. EDF scheduling algorithm assigns a priority level for each arriving message, and the switch will transmit the very message with the highest priority level. The simulation results of the corresponding model constructed on Petri Nets proves that the application of the EDF scheduling algorithm can effectively reduce the delay of emergent messages in the AFDX network, thus improving the QoS of the network.
