Abstract
This paper presents a method for design of single and double notch finite impulse response (FIR) filter using prototype of second order infinite impulse response (IIR) filter. The length of FIR filter is selected on the basis of location of zeros in the unit circle. Further, the concept of amplitude change function (ACF) is used to reduce the rejection bandwidth (RBW). Pole radius selection is also suggested for reducing the error of response.
