Abstract
This paper proposes a new kind of serial hybrid active filter (SHAPF) using a current controlled current source (CCCS). Compared with the voltage source one, there is no need to process the harmonic frequency in detection circuits, switching amplifier and coupled transformer etc. This greatly reduces the demands of bandwidth, switching frequency and initial cost. And it is easy to keep the fundamental voltage of serial active unit to be zero. Principles and control methods are discussed in the paper. Simulation results of a three-phase 67 kW SHAPF with proposed structure show that it has good performance for both harmonic current and voltage suppression.
