Abstract
To reduce the average transfer times and travel cost of urban public transport, this paper developed an optimal method based on an average transfer time model, which could improve the attractiveness of the urban public transport. It used the reachability matrix to solve the transfer coefficient, and established the transfer matrix to solve the average transfe times, then studied and discussed the calculating step of the method in detail. Finally, it carried out the optimization of a city´s public networks used the optimal method, which showed that the method was practical and operable. The study can provide references for the researchers and decision-makers.
