Abstract :
Rectangular horn antennas have the advantage of making it possible to have different beamwidths in the two principal planes of radiation. This makes them attractive as feeds for elliptical reflectors. In some cases there might even be a need for feed patterns, with different frequency dependencies in the two principal planes. The purpose of the paper is to demonstrate that it is possible to design a corrugated rectangular sector horn in such a way. In addition, the throat of the horn is provided with a novel multilayer lens, which ensures excitation of the desired lowest-order mode in the flared section of the horn.
