Abstract :
In this paper, an experimental investigation was conducted on printed wide-slot antennas fed by modified microstrip lines for harmonic suppression. Results show that the suppressed harmonic performance of this kind of antenna is greatly affected by the modified microstrip-fed lines and ground plane which connected a conductor lines. The effect of harmonic suppression mechanisms on the dimensions of the microstrip-fed line and ground is discussed. By properly choosing the suitable microstrip-fed lines, which determines the working frequency of the antenna, and selecting optimized modified ground, two designs with significantly suppressed harmonic and enhanced bandwidths are obtained.
