Abstract :
Both rigid and flexible dynamic analyses have been carried out on a new large deployable space antenna structure combined with a folded hoop, several folded ribs, several inflatable membrane tori and flexible cables, with a diameter of 60 meters. Such a structure can be deployed successfully with proper control. Structure deformations of the deployed antenna with typical load conditions are analyzed; it reveals that more than 90% gravity should be compensated on the ground. Electromagnetic performances of the deformed surfaces are analyzed; it shows that less than 5% error of the ideal reflector surface or the RMS error less than ¿/15 should be guaranteed to reach the acceptable performance. These conclusions are useful for the improvement of the detailed design of the new large deployable space antenna.
