Abstract :
This paper studied the causes of highway traffic accidents and designed the highway traffic safety analysis model with system dynamics method. The highway traffic system is a dynamic system that is composed by human, vehicle and highway. If one factor or triangular relationship becomes disorder, the highway traffic accident will happen. Through the analysis of cause-effect relationship within highway traffic system, we designed the highway traffic safety analysis model with system dynamics method. This model took highway attraction as main link variable and highway traffic condition, traffic environment, driver, vehicle sub-block as four sub-blocks. The condition of each sub-block and the relationship between sub-blocks determine the condition of highway traffic system. Differ from other analytical methods, this method can analyze the highway traffic safe condition as a whole, not just one factor of the highway traffic system.
