Abstract :
Features of artificial neural networks (ANNs) that make them a natural and interesting basis for modeling cognition are discussed. Topics that have been covered in the literature are outlined. The range and depth of these topics can leave little doubt that the ANN framework is being used to model “high level” cognition, while the number of papers is an indication of the productivity of these models and the interest they have generated
