Abstract :
VLSI integrated circuits have been fabricated and tested for the measurement of neural activity of in vitro brain slices. The circuits were fabricated using MOSIS fabrication services. To date two CMOS IC structures have been fabricated. The first is a passive sensor array used to assess the compatibility of the electrodes with biological tissue and sensor reliability. The second IC contains switched-capacitor amplifiers with polysilicon input electrodes
