Abstract :
Ordinary PDC bit has good drilling capability in medium-hard layer, but in the BinHai block Dagang oilfield, because the lower layer has the feature of high hardness and abrasive etc, the PDC bit has low ROP, little drilling footage, long drill time, these distinguishing features restrict the application of PDC bit. Based on layer´s core data, we give this design of PDC bit. The special PDC bit has been introduced, and the composite drilling, flat tooth roller bit and many other new technologies have been introduced for the layer, but the technical and economic benefits are not obvious. This article designs the crown shape and section, the arrange of the teeth, the cogging back rake angle aimed at the PDC bit, it has been proved to have good performance in well site application through the analysis of rock core information.
