Abstract :
A T-shaped slot array antenna fed by half-mode substrate integrated waveguide (HMSIW) is presented in this paper. The array antenna is designed to operate at 8.3 GHz. The antenna has been designed and optimized with Ansoft made HFSS software. Size is reduced nearly 50% compared to the full-mode SIW slot array antennas. The antenna also shows better gain and radiation pattern compared to the with three element rectangular slots. For the proposed antenna, 8.2 dBi gain has been achieved.
