Model predictive control (MPC) is now a mature commercial technology, and yet, achieving sustained benefits will continue to require due care of soft factors as well as hard factors. If you want to make the best returns from your investment, options other than MPC should also be considered. The author offers practical tips to improve project success, and illustrates them using industrial drier applications as an example
