  • Abstract
Nowadays, the designer uses an assembly of existing structures to design a complete static converter structure. The resulting structures are generally very attached to a specific technology and are not very new. To avoid this, a functional description is proposed here in order to take into account the technological aspect very later in the design process. In such an approach, specifications are mainly defined by qualitative criteria, which implied numerous problems developed in the paper. Thanks to the functional approach proposed in the paper, in the future, our final goal is to build an expert system for static converter structure design
