Title :
Large group displays: Using differentiation of command to filter data
Abstract :
Large group displays can be used to display large volumes of data to multiple decision makers to give each full access to available information. The danger of this approach is that the decision makers will use their own biases as a template for filtering the data to make it more manageable. Such filtering can leave tasks neglected. One way to mitigate this filtering is to divide the decision making along functional lines. The Headquarters of RAF Fighter Command during the Battle of Britain will be used as an historical example of the success of this approach to effectively utilizing a large group display.
